Vladimir Putin on Friday compared Israel to Nazi Germany as he turned on old ally Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Russian president said Israel’s blockade of Gaza ahead of an expected ground offensive against Hamas was “unacceptable”.
Israel has been pounding Gaza with air strikes and artillery, with some 300,000 troops stationed on the border in anticipation for a ground operation.
Putin said this was comparable to Nazi forces’ siege of Leningrad between September 1941 and January 1944, when at least 750,000 of the city’s civilians starved to death.
He told journalists on a visit to Kyrgyzstan that Israel’s plans for Gaza were “comparable to the siege of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War”.
“In my opinion, this is unacceptable.”

The Putin fans must be on vacation.
He is a hero to some FReepers, who are wont to refer to him by his first name.
“The Putin fans must be on vacation.”
Oh, they’ll steer clear of this thread.
can you imagine the frustration right now at the FSB propaganda headquarters in St. Petersburg?
all the usual Russian shills must be going crazy, cuz all everyone on FR wants to talk about is Israel, and Putin keeps putting his foot in his mouth ...
It could be Putin’s word. However It is unwise to take Mockingbird Media’s word for it. We shall see
A much closer comparison would be Pearl Harbor. Surprise attack and a followup retaliatory bombing of the country that attacked.
When I was young, I remember the Soviet Union announcing, every 5-10 years, that they were ‘allowing’ a few Jews to leave the USSR. I remember wondering just what happened to the Jews during the other years? Once I learned about communism and the Evil Empire, I realized the truth. Vladimir Putin and his oligarchs have always aligned with the islamofascistnazis in the Middle East. I remember some 200-300 Russians in Syria during President Trump’s first administration. President Trump warned them that the USA was going to do X Y Z.... and if the Russians were still there, they would be in harms way. To this day President Trump regrets the loss of life, but he gave them a chance.
Israel is giving time to Gaza. No doubt many of the islamofascistnazis wiil put on women’s clothes and scurry away. Unfortunately, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran put women and children in the very same buildings that Israel has identified as about to be destroyed. God will take care of the innocent. The terrorists will soon meet their 72 Virginians.
Check out your own country’s actions through history Vlad, and Russia’s alliance with the Nazis for two years, before condemning another country’s actions to defend themselves from an enemy that wants to wipe them off the face of the earth. Many of the atrocities Russia committed weren’t done to defend your country from your enemies. Russia denied it had anything to do with the 1940 Katyn Massacre of Polish officers, and tried to pin the blame on the Nazis until 2010 when your country finally accepted responsibility for it.
It won’t be work of mockingbird media, not smart enough to insert “Great Patriotic War” into story.
Vlad is returning to the old Soviet playbook as expected.
The Freak Russpublic faction are wearing everything Vlad says and does. In the Bible, we read, “do not lose your garments, lest ye be seen naked.” Do I need to say more?
Some in said faction are even taking the Russian line on Ukraine and the neo-con line on Israel/Gaza. Pick a lane and stay in it, Freakers.
They’ll adjust as soon as the new talking points start showing up in the back corners of the internet.
Zero self awareness.
TEND YOUR OWN GARDEN, PUTIE
Yeah. Get’n a little scary.
Really. I guess he knows the world MSM won't point out how ridiculous his assertions are.
Setup for Ezek.38-39...
Gotta remember Russia and Iran are on the same side; two members of the new three member Axis of Evil (Russia/Iran/China). So Russia won’t take a position to antagonize Iran.
