A dog is only as good as it’s handler or owner!
Cut the dogs some slack, with new caring owners they can be socialized and made into good companions, the original owners on the other hand NEED TO BE PUT DOWN!
The dog needs a caring, loving owner who is accustomed to owning/training large breed guard/working dogs like a German Shepherd, Rottie, Mastiff, Bulldog, Pitbull Terrier, Doberman, etc-the poor animal does not deserve to be put to death because of a cruel and uncaring owner-as an animal lover, I hate to see people blame the dog straight away...
Someone like FJB is just the kind of person who should never, ever have a pet-any pet, much less a dog from a breed specifically bred for over a century to guard and protect its human(s) and property. that nasty sonfabitch would turn a poodle into Kujo-please, please someone keep him from ever getting another dog-and take his cat too-get it a new home where it can’t be abused...
I’ve read that he has hit and kicked his dogs, yelled at them, etc. that is not going to make a dog trusting of any human-and if you or I treated a dog like that and someone saw that, they could call animal control and the sheriff and that dog could be taken from us and rehabbed/re-homed while we were fined for animal cruelty and possibly barred from ever having a pet again-good.
I’m not into little dogs, so I’ve never owned a dog that is not on the “bad/biting dog” list-I’ve had 2 German Shepherds, a Chow, a Siberian Husky-none of my family or friends/guests were ever bitten-my dogs all lived happily to the upper limit of their years-but those big working/guarding dogs require an owner who is loving, firm and experienced-they have to know that you are the alpha and what you say is what they do. They also need their owner’s attention and love and something to do so they do not get bored-dogs are a companion animal, not a designer handbag...
