“I specifically remember his holiday warnings about dogs and chocolate. Probably good advice for the blue-haired ladies with 2 pound Yorkies, but big dogs get occasional chocolate treats.”

Eckstein said that a M&M piece won’t hurt but if a dog eats a large chocolate bar get him to the animal hospital immediately.

I think I’ve seen that two pounds of chocolate is required to kill a forty pound dog.

I knew a guy that let someone babysit his 100-plus pound Golden Retriever. They weren’t really dog people, and left several trays of holiday brownies on the counter. He ate everything. He got a tummy ache, but who wouldn’t?

My rule: when the dog buys the chocolate, it can have all it wants. When I buy the chocolate, doggie gets a few pieces.
