I dropped Well Fargo Credit card after Choice Hotels company switched me from another CC company. I told WF why I dropped them. They didn’t try to defend themselves. They probably didn't even bother reading it.

At one point quite a few years ago I started noticing a lot of convenience stores with two-way satellite dishes on their roofs. I notice things like that because antennas and radar systems were my work in research engineering. Anyway, very many of these stores also processed Western Union money orders, and at the time Western Union was really nowhere else in my geographical area (i.e., no banks or banking facilities). It was also around that time I started looking at remittances from foreigners here in this country back to relatives and was shocked.
Most recently in 2022 alone, remittances to low- and middle-income countries amounted to $630 billion, or 78% of the total cash transfers worldwide. Top recipient countries include India, Mexico and China, and the largest source of remittances is the United States.

Personally, I believe that WU's expansion (there are a LOT of WU banks in my area now) was due to remittances business; it's why I never considered doing anything with them in the way of handling my money.
