like a bona fide slob.

My dad was from Pennsylvania and he wore a suit and tie everyday at work until he died. He was middle class not an aristocrat, but believed in proper decorum when in public. I remember when I was young, he didn’t want me to wear blue jeans or later coats with patches on the elbows, because “dressing down indicates you don’t have the ability to dress better”. He would be shocked at how far we have fallen.

I am of that school. I am appalled at how people appear in public.

You cannot find a restaurant now that you would not have a good chance of seeing someone in a t-shirt in there.

Heck. The way costs have risen, who can afford to eat out anyway...
