Why not also ask about steak knives, hammers, power tools, sledge hammers, hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, machetes, limb cutters, chain saws, beer, wine, Johnny Walker, your retirement plan, girlie magazines, porno dvds, and if you’re a Trump supporter?

For example, if a child is coming to play at your house, you may help normalize these conversations by offering up the fact that you do have a gun in the home, and share the details of how you safely store it. In doing so, you lay the foundation for having that same conversation when it’s time to send your child to their home getting robbed by your “friends”.

And we need to politely ask about sexual weirdos and groomers in liberal homes...

You’ve probably heard it before: You really should ask about guns in the home before your child goes over to a new friend’s house to play.

My next door neighbor's dad had an impressive collection of pellet guns and BB guns - he used to teach us how to use them responsibly, and it wasn't long before I persuaded my parents to get me a Daisy air rifle. It was a very different world back then - far less hysteria.

“Yes, You Need To Ask About Guns In The Home Before Play Dates”

Depends on how good junior’s shot is, as far as I’m concerned.

Well of course you should ask. Then compare yours with theirs and discuss the relative merits of both your choices!

Lol, if this dingbat has to ask if I have guns in the house, there is zero chance our kids would be friends.

When the NRA had actual real good info with Eddie Eagle and other programs these types said it was better to just avoid the subject. All this talk of don’t touch, get an adult is what they used to act like was child abuse.

They should be more of afraid of my angels. I had so many in the car on the way to the post office I don’t know how they all fit. I don’t think my kids would want to play with such a parent’s kids, and I don’t think I’d be close enough to them for any invites. LOL. I know what the bible says about the fearful and unbelieving and where they’re headed, so they might get a salvation chat.

I simply tell them my house is not kid-proof. Their call.

I carry. If I’m visiting someone I let them know. Their house, their call. I’ll either leave or lock the firearm in the car. Nobody has been bothered so far.

With firearm sales booming again, there are far more firearms than people in the USA. the Latest statistics I saw in an Ammoland article was that 30 to 60% of households have a firearm. That means that if there is not a firearm in the home of the inquiring parent, that there probably is one in the home of a grandparent, uncle, aunt or other close relative that the kids know well.

If firearm sales keep it up, the gun control movement will be relegated to a few hard core “Karens.”

pediatric gun deaths rise around the country

Based on what studies? What are the actual numbers? I can assert that the author has increased their encounters with homeless prostitutes with poor hygiene - based on what factual evidence?

Hmmm, I never asked any of the parents of my daughters friends if they had guns, but I did ask them if they allowed their children to watch TV, if they did, she wasn’t allowed over.

28 years ago, my daughter, who lived in another state, had a baby girl. Daughter wanted to bring the baby ande visit for a week, which delighted my wife and me.

I talked with her over the phone, I was a smoker at the time and she asked me politely if I could go outside to smoke while the baby was here. I thought it was a reasonable request so I agreed. When I wanted a smoke, I went to the garage.

I came back inside one day and went to pick up my grand daughter and hold for a while. My daughter caught me and I thought she was going to hug me but no, she was sniffing the front of my shirt for cigarette smoke. I told her that if she wanted her daughter to grow up without a grandpa just keep sniffing my shirt. Message given and received.
