More than 200 Oakland small business owners are poised to strike planning to shut down for a portion of the day Tuesday.
They are fed up with feeling as though the city is not protecting them from the rising tide of crime.

If you’re stupid enough to still keep a business open in Oakland, then you are definitely stupid enough to keep voting Democrat.
The police, in some regions of Germany and South Africa, now support civilian, unpaid volunteers NOT the other way around.
In both cases white males formed the militias because of hundreds of attacks from blacks along with hundreds of injuries and some deaths. As one militia man put it, there was simply no other option. The police cannot protect us.
We are heading in that direction in Democrat controlled cities/counties.
I know in Austin it’s just a joke to think the police can help you in any way unless active gunfire is taking place.
If you are attacked, Austin is as likely to send you a dysphoric gay unarmed female social worker to help.

Many folks from blue states moved to a red state like Florida. One of the reasons why Florida is no longer "purple".

.........I think there are several areas that have “militias” and forming a militia IS NOT against the law as far as I know. Now, if they go out on the street and break the law, all bets are off and the cops would likely enjoy arresting several of them.
I think Democratic Cities are betwixt and between now. They have a lot of violent crime but just not quite enough to have militia’s go active.
I think Chicago will have active, volunteer, unpaid militia’s first.
About time! Shut them all down for a week and this crap will quit. Don’t buy any stock from vendors, don’t pay any wages, and shut off the utilities to ding them too. On top of that there will be one week with no income to owe city taxes on or any sales taxes collected.
