>> The peace formula developed by the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, includes respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and the restoration of UN principles and adherence to international law. <<

Crimean revanchism is not a peace plan; it is a rally cry for war. Revanchism is a bad stance for a former territory of the Soviet Union, no matter how illegitimate that possession was.

Realistically, there is no outcome to this war which results in Crimea becoming Ukraine. Defined as repulsing the present Russian invasion, this war has just about already been won. Defined as reclaiming the 2014 territorial boundaries of Ukraine, Ukraine’s cause is unwinnable. Time for peace. The Donbas gets independence, with some measures to prevent Soviet domination. Russia gets Crimea, with troop movement to Crimea to be considered an act of aggression.

“There’s that future tense again”

The future is coming, as surely as night follows day - and with it, the F-16s.

I find it delusional on your part, to speak as if this is in doubt (that F-16s will be provided), or even that it is unlikely. Everything has been explicitly approved publicly by the Political authorities who approved and delivered mountains of other weapons, the funds have been approved, the specific planes and the candidate pilots have been identified, and they have been allocated slots in the upcoming classes.

I was just speaking with ETCM on another thread about this unusual aspect of the Russian mindset - to actually invest in these kind of wildly unrealistic positions to maintain an unrealistic picture of Russian strength, in the face of obvious contradiction. Not just throw them out to discourage the other side, but to really buy in to it at some level.

It is going to make coming to terms with the defeat and humiliation more shocking and difficult. It seems that you have difficulty just accepting that F-16s have been approved, and are coming. Willful self-delusion.

Realistically, Russia has no chance of maintaining this level of combat operations, against the combined economies of the more than 50 donor countries of the Ukraine Contact Group (Ramstein Conference).

Russia’s GDP is far less than the United States - actually less than that of individual States like Texas or California. Russia’s total economy is less than that of Germany, or the UK, or France, or Italy, or even Chile. At a cost of only about 5% of our Defense budget for just a few years (looks like three), we can have the great bulk of the old Soviet arsenal demilitarized. We are over halfway done, and on our way to 2/3rds.

Math will have its day.

Russia is burning through about tens times as much gear from storage, as they can produce new, and are still experiencing a net decline in the operational firepower they can keep on the battlefield. When they come to the end of those stocks in storage, they will likely experience a dramatic drop in firepower. That will likely occur in a gradual rolling wave across the many commodities and weapon systems from now, through the end of 2024, at current rates (but I expect rates to accelerate as Russian stocks run low, and Ukrainians keep getting better weapons).

We will gladly see them Tuesday.

I didn’t request your opinion,
I asked what you know, i.e. have any evidence of.

I imagine that before the first F-16 shows up, Russia will take out all landing surfaces in Ukraine.

But, but - the Ukraine will gladly fix them on Tuesday, for $24 billion in aid and hamburgers today.

Are the f16s for “ukraine” the older biplane type or the newer monoplanes? Retractable main gear??

“ I imagine that before the first F-16 shows up, Russia will take out all landing surfaces in Ukraine.”

Why didn’t they do that before old Ukrainian jets blew up and burned their Black Sea Fleet HQ, with their Commanding Admiral inside?

Because they can’t.

They can’t even revive the grain deal, because Ukraine controls th Black Sea now, and is shipping their grain despite whatever Russia does.

Russia is weak and dying

“hohohohohohohohoho ”

In three days (September 14-16), Ukraine struck four of the Black Sea Fleet’s thirty patrol vessels, and one of its six Kilo class subs, as well as other vessels.

Yesterday, Germany announced that they were sending a batch of a new type of Naval attack drones.

Today, areas of Central Sevastopol remain locked down, while they try to recover bodies from the wreckage of the Black Sea Fleet HQ.

Three more vessels are heading into two of Odesa’s ports to load grain and iron.

Looks like the Black Sea Fleet HQ building is not suitable to be restored (the fire burned all day), and will have to be torn down.

The Black Sea is being renamed the South NATO Sea, and the Baltic will be renamed the North NATO Sea, on the day of Sweden’s formal accession.

What has Putina wrought?

“hohohohohohohohoho”

The frozen conflict that the Russian military maintained in Nagorno-Karabakh has been surrendered in disgrace, as the Ruskii Mir begins to implode, no longer able to field the military force needed to maintain it.

Freedom for Transnistria, Koenigsberg, Outer Manchuria, Tatarstan, and Bashkortistan draws closer.

Putin.

I asked what you know, i.e. have any evidence of.

I know that the Wagernite jet fell out of a clear blue sky (there was video) and the Russian government is refusing to invite the Brazilian manufacturer and safety agency to join the investigation for the cause of the crash.

That's what we know.

Are you able to deduce anything from those facts? Do those facts raise any questions in your mind?

Do you possess the ability to think critically? If so, what do you think happened to that plane? What strikes you as the most likely event, given the undisputed facts of the situation?

Given the Russian air defenses inability to stop Soviet jets rigged to carry a subset of NATO PGMs its understandable that Russophiles want to convince themselves that a newer jet, with better avionics and compatibility with an enormous array of NATO PGMs, is nothing to worry about.

How did it make you feel when you learned that the Black Sea Fleet subs have fled Sevastopol?

Ukie infantry died by the bucketload again today, as they walked into the Russian minefields and artillery fire.

More 16-year-old Ukrainian boys were press-ganged off the streets of Ukrainian cities and shipped to the Eastern Front to die crying for their mothers - so Vlod the Impaled could score another Monaco mansion with The Tater's largesse from BananAmerica's bottomless tax coffers.

On the plus side, the more StupeKrainians that end up on the Russian flypaper at Robotyne and Artemovs'k, the higher the collective IQ of the living Ukrainians that fled the burger conveyor belt will be.

I look forward to Denny the Rabbit Boy's Update From Luzern tonight.

How do you feel about being on the same side as Pigboy Joe Biden and George Soros? The black Sea is a fish bowl. NOBODY could protect anything from modern weapons in such a place. Sounds like Russians may have figured that outl...
