She’s probably hoping that he sues for defamation so that she can sell more books. Here’s the problem with suing someone for defamation: She’s made a claim that can only be disproven by an eyewitness. Conveniently, there won’t be any eyewitnesses; so, it’s a “he said, she said” situation where neither side can prove their point. She will probably dig up a girlfriend or a family member who will claim that she told her about the groping. I think the better path (for Guiliani) is to just say it’s not true and move on.
