Radio Rwanda whipped up a dehumanizing frenzy. It told people that Tutsis are not human. They’re cockroaches! It told the Hutu that their duty was to kill cockroaches. It told them they must attend to their duty.

That’s what the evil Russian TV is doing with Russians. They tell them that Ukrainians are not humans and if you kill a Ukrainian you’re not murdering a person, but performing pest control.

That's just war, I won't tell you some of the things my father shared about his time in N Africa, Sicily and Italy, the names and nicknames he and his buddies had for African, Italians and Germans.

I suspect that dehumanizing the enemy goes back as long as their has been combat and war.

No one group is better or worse than any other in that respect.
