Former US AG files brief in district court claiming Fani’s prosecution of Trump violates Supremacy Clause of Constitution
Not everyone in D.C. is a scuzzy swamp rat. In fact, there are still some seasoned politicians who stand as staunch defenders of the Constitution. Among these patriots is none other than Edwin Meese, former U.S. Attorney General during the Reagan era.
At the ripe old age of 91, Meese has not only offered his perspective on the Georgia racketeering (RICO) trial involving former DOJ Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark, and calling it as a “noteworthy challenge to federal authority,” but he also has some harsh words for Fani Willis and her weak case against President Trump.
Meese has now taken the giant step of submitting a brief in U.S. District Court, arguing that Fani Willis has infringed upon the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution.
It’s truly remarkable to see a 91-year-old man dedicating time and effort to this cause. May God bless him for his commitment to this country. Here’s a detailed image from a portion of the Meese brief:
If the premise of this prosecution were to be accepted, then state law enforcement officials could arrest local U.S. Attorneys and their Assistants while they were deliberating over whether and/or how to approach a possible prosecution of state or local officials.Similarly, under Fulton County's interpretations of federal supremecy, state or local officials could enter the Oval Office and arrest the President and his Attorney General during their deliberations over whether and to what extent to assert federal law enforcement powers against state or local officials.

Good for Ed Meese. He flat lays out what the problem is.
Yup. The precedent this would set, would destroy the country. And that, is exactly what the leftists want to do.
91 is the new 51. So Meese is fine.
KJP answered last week that Joe’s sgr 80 is the new 40.
Y’all can subtract 40 from your age. It will make you feel young again.
It is shameful that no one else has stepped forward in this manner.
Ed Meese is a very noble man.
How soon does Ed Meese get indicted?
Oh boy...makes me twenty something again!
It’s obvious under Fani’s logic, that he is conspiring to overthrow the USA.
Agree completely!
Ed is a wonderful guy.
You are a younger man, already.
Keep it up!
Only a few real Statesmen left. TY Ed Meese.
I tried, but my knees don't believe it.
Great, now I have bad knees at 34.
And this is a problem because?
Trump had a political, moral and Constitutional obligation to question and investigate anything and anyone living under the realm of Government of the USA without recourse. It was his responsibility as President of the American people to oversee all aspects of the American and Foreign Governments and the effects these Governments are having on the American People.
Biden is ignoring these responsibilities resulting in the possible destruction of the American Government, ergo, the American People.
Funny. Exactly what I’ve been saying since this idiocy started.
But lotsa roobs here claim otherwise: it’s kewl for a bunch of Georgia small town hoods to roll the President and his aides.
Trump has lousy lawyers, because the other abomination that the Rats are engaging in - terrorizing his attorneys with arrest and disbarment - is going on without a peep from the “Supreme” Court.
Ed Meese and John Eastman wrote the best brief on Birthright Citizenship in Hamdi. Where is John Eastman now? Being dragged through a dumbthug low brow Soviet disbarment trial overseen by a black “judge” who overrules all his evidence and testimony. The Red Queen incarnate.
So what’s next? Fani Willis adds Meese to the Conspiracy for having the temerity to write this?
Agreed...Trump’s lawyers stink on ice.
Mark Levin was saying this weeks ago.
this stupid regional (not even STATE) AG is going to make cases that should be federal???
