It was made famous by Fred G. Sanford of Sanford and Son, who called it “Champipple,” a mixture of champagne or ginger ale

He did not call "Ripple" "Champipple." Rather, "Champipple" was one of the many various mixed drinks that Fred concocted.

I believe that it was a running gag on the show in which Fred would come up with a new concoction of "Ripple" and dub it with a funny portmanteau. "Champipple" was merely one of those.

Regards,

Whoa!!! Now it is a step to far. Mess with Colorado’s control of liquor and bars and there is real trouble. Sure you can be a drug addled criminal with zero worries, break in to house, burn building, attack cops, rob people, take drugs.... But the second you interfere with the revenuers then there will be problems.

Actually, it sounds like a drug addiction and STD hot spot.

FTA - “citing a report claiming over 80% of the homeless have experienced lifetime alcohol and/or drug problems.”

Experts were unable to draw any conclusions and, instead, focused on more marijuana legalization and increasing welfare payments to the unhoused.

“… open-air tavern for the homeless that also rents out tents for prostitution…”

At least AOC will have a place to work after she gets booted from Congress for lying on her financial disclosure about whether or not she’s married.

Sounds like the old “Hell-on-Wheels” railroad construction camps of the 1870s and 80s.

The Homeless Industrial Complex just found another excellent funding stream. They already have Federal, State, City and County. Now they will no doubt use the Obama / Biden Regime 10% model for the ladies of the night.

I can’t wait to see the job ads for the tent brothel ‘manager.’ Many politicians will insist upon ‘sampling’ the merchandise. Many more will volunteer for ‘quality control.’

Ripple was a lower budget wine made from pears and fortified with a high alcohol content? I remember seeing on store shelves as a kid by others like Night Train Express, Boones Farm and MD 2020. Haven’t seen it for years.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen winos in years.

I live downtown, amongst a significant homeless population.

There are no stumbling drunks. No Night Train out of a town paper bag.

These days, it's all fentanyl zombies.

Recently, the State of Washington spent $143,000,000 and ‘assisted’ 1,000. Do the math. The Homeless Industrial Complex is growing much faster than the actual homeless. What a Surprise!
