There is no single force - not trans, not gays, not illegal immigration - more destructive to society and liberty than divorce, especially when children are involved.

Forty-seven percent of ever-married Democrats have been divorced, compared to 41 percent of ever-married Republicans. https://ifstudies.org/blog/red-families-vs-blue-families-which-are-happier. Both sides of the fence suck on this front.

You want to turn things around? Go back to divorce being a shame, a disgrace, and the mortal sin that it is. Smile upon couples trying to work things out. Celebrate the children instead of using them as pawns.

Unfortunately that’s not the type of “village” Hillary has in mind. It’s a village where you can do anything you want, any time you want and the Village (Government) will run everything including your life. Think the TV show The Prisoner and you’re Number Six…..

Single parent homes which is a large driver of poverty in this country is also...Bad For The Environment!.

When people are in poverty they are far less likely to "be green", or care about sustainable living. The drive to stay alive, the commitment to eat one more meal seems to be more important than a persons carbon footprint.

The government subsidizes bad conduct with financing single mothers. Two parent families should be have funding.

Remember when “liberals” like Daniel Patrick Moynihan said things like this?

Thank you.

Divorce isn’t discussed in this raw way, because many in the audience are guilty.

It’s been said, that “deep staters” are dirty, but since they’re all dirty there is mutually-assured destruction if they become whistleblowers.

Same thing here.

And then there is the customary chorus of “but what about abuse, cheating, etc. Are you saying they should stay married?” No. They can separate. But notice, that this argument is the kissing cousin of “abortion is ok in certain cases.”

We either believe in morality, or we don’t.

Another reason why welfare, laying aside the federal unconstitutionality of it, is bad for the Republic.

Ours were perfectly normal. One is a book editor, one a nanny with several side gigs (It’s amazing what face painters get paid) one is an astronautical engineer and the other a trucker.

When I asked her to marry me, she asked “can I stay home with the kids?” When I said yes, so did she.

Same here. Our vacations were limited to visiting our parents or family (no hotels or plane tickets). Our first new car was when the kids were in high school and we only did that because cars had gotten too complex to trust the reliability of a used one. The second new car only came after the kids were out of college. Clothes? Same as you, but most of mine came from the thrift store; people die and retire every day. Nothing like getting a $250 tie for $5. I purchased a Brooks Brother's tux for less than $20 and only had $50 in alterations. I own a pile of high end polo shirts that none cost more than $6.

On a funny note. A wife of a friend expressed distaste for wearing "other people's clothes." I told her that people pay high dollar for dead people's furniture, only they are called antiques.

Before support for unwed mothers was established, most black parents were married.

I could have written this post literally word for word, but only had three kids. The best bet right now for America’s future!

Now that the nest has emptied and we can afford more, she still gets most of my outer clothing from estate sales and resale shops, and we’re driving the same old cars. They guzzle gas, but have been paid off for over a decade, are well maintained, and good for another 10 if Biden doesn’t outlaw them…

Respectfully, you're missing the elephant in the room. Divorce isn't what's causing this, it's the acceptance of unwed motherhood. Divorce, while not a good thing, isn't responsible for 28% of the births being to white women who are unmarried, 70% for black women, and 53% for Hispanics. A divorced couple typically ends with the man paying child support and the children being supported financially. The children of unmarried women disproportionally fall into the welfare system with all the poverty and difficulties that entails. Unmarried women having children is a much, much bigger problem than divorce.

My wife’s car is 8-9 years old.

For the last few years I’ve driven company cars. It’s a huge benefit. Of course I’m gonna be gone from home every day but one through the end of the month.

I totally understand and agree that unwed parenthood leaves a terrible societal wake. That activity and that wake get a LOT of attention.

Divorce, however, is the beam in the eye to the splinter of unwed parenthood.

I’ve heard that many people born blind, while wishing they had sight, have said that it’s not as bad as we folks with sight make it out to be. The reason is that they never had sight, and thus don’t know what they’re missing.

Children born out of wedlock and into a single parent situation certainly face an uphill battle. But they won’t experience the evaporation of familial love and stability. They’ll also “miss out” on the frequent war and attendant parental selfishness that their brethren/children of divorce experience.

Now, of course, if Dad runs off with the secretary we shouldn’t blame the wife. And if Mom becomes a meth addict and moves out we shouldn’t blame the husband. But, per Forbes, 75% of individuals and couples cited lack of commitment as the reason for their divorce. This was the most common cause of a marriage ending, exceeding even infidelity.

It’s real easy to bash unwed parents. They’re rarely in the same room.

80 percent of divorces are initiated by women who stand to collect... not that they ever really will, but that is what they are told...

end no fault divorce, alimony and enforce legal, physical split custody on both parties.

stop the massive government incentives for people to get free money from the government just for divorcing and adding a few lies to the mix.
