Mass. mayor calls to change state's 'right-to-shelter' law amid migrant crisis: 'Don't have endless capacity'

Massachusetts towns are facing a "reality check" straining to provide for crowds of migrants seeking shelter in the state, according to the New York Times.

A report from the Times Sunday detailed how the small town of Woburn, Massachusetts, and other areas in the state have been struggling to meet the demand of the migrant crisis amid the state's "right-to-shelter law."

The article characterized the locals’ plight, stating, "Barely two weeks had passed since the migrant crisis arrived in their city of 40,000 people, 10 miles northwest of Boston, but the volunteers gathered at a church in Woburn on a recent evening sounded battle weary."

It continued: "The small group of locals… had stepped up to help some 80 migrant families whom the state placed in Woburn hotels last month. Determined to offer a warm welcome, the volunteers had quickly discovered the daunting complexity of meeting basic needs, a reality check also underway elsewhere in the state and nation.".....

Localities across the country have been reeling in the face of a migrant surge. Many of these areas are Northern blue, liberal cities that have declared themselves sanctuary cities far from the border.

The Times also spoke to one Woburn teacher, Kelley Hurley, who initially "saw an opportunity in the migrants’ arrival, to help nudge her changing city toward a warmer embrace of its new diversity."

The paper noted that Hurley and her volunteers felt stretched with their newfound responsibility. "They had struggled to transport dozens of newly arrived migrants to laundromats, chafed with frustration when meals for the families arrived late from a state-contracted company, and seethed when a hospital asked for a $300 deposit from a migrant woman suffering a miscarriage," The Times wrote.

See? The solution is Communism. Just make everything totally free. The laundromats, the meals, the hospital care -- none of it will be a problem because the workers of the world will unite and provide their labor without expecting to be paid.

In theory.

I was thinking the same thing. I even searched again and no articles came up.

But now if you search both articles appear. Magic.

See? The solution is Communism. Just make everything totally free.

Remember when John Kerry registered his 7 million dollar yacht in Rhode Island so he could avoid 1/2 mil in Mass. state taxes? They could've bought a couple laundromats or that and buses to move them. He eventually paid up but only after the $h!t hit the fan.

That “feel good” sanctuary BS draws ‘em in like flies to crap. But hey! Look at all the life enrichment and strength you’re getting. LOL! Remember, perversity is your strength.

“Wells claimed, “We’re taking up slack for other communities,” he said, “and we need the funding to do that.””

No, Woburn is not taking up slack for other communities. Other communities are not slacking. Other communities realize that tax money is paid by and for the benefit of the residents who pay the tax money, and that tax money is not a charitable donation, and it is not an endless revenue which can pay for and support infinite needs. What declared sanctuary places are doing is altruistic insanity.

Questions: What is the crisis in South America and around the world that has their citizens fleeing to the USA? Is there a crisis? Is there a war? Is poverty a crisis or is it a hardship?

Altruists used to travel to other places to aid and assist in making life easier for those in poverty struck nations. Now the altruists prefer to stay in their cushy homes and neighborhoods and indiscriminately import the impoverish of the world to the detriment of the community and society which cannot sustain endless needs of an endless horde of humanity that seek asylum from poverty. Is there not a way to teach and help the impoverish to have enough within their own countries? At some point enough is enough and the wealthy need to realize that enough is a different quantity for different people.
