Oh and yes, the pardon does cover everything they might come up with around that incident where as going to appeal and winning does not. You might remember the case of Eddie Gallagher. Found not guilty of murder (because the state's witness confessed on the stand) but they continued to try to hang anything else they could on him until Trump stopped it with a pardon.
That is what a pardon does. They can go after you for other things but not for that incident or anything related to it.
