So why exactly you think banning the ownship of humans at the Federal level is stupid ?
You may not be a history buff since you are not aware we have done it before.
I think it will backfire spectacularly. If I’m not mistaken Florida and Iowa just passed 6 week bans, a few other states have heartbeat laws etc. The second this becomes a federal issue you go from relying on state Senators in conservative states to do the right thing to relying on Susan Collins and Murkowski to do the right thing. That’s a definite losing position. I think it’s far more likely that on a federal level this will be legalized than banned.
