Why is the name considered a foreign invention?

The word Hindu comes from the Sanskrit word for the Indus River and people there SINDHU, which also has origin in Persian language

It was called “HINDUSTAN” and “HIND” before the British arrived.

India has been known as India for the last 2,500 years. The Latin name for India is India.
