Why does the US have to be involved in the decision?

Because we subsidize both sides. Hundreds of millions to Palestine. Billions to Israel.

Of course, we shouldn't finance either side. Nor should we be brokering any peace deals (the Abraham Accords included).

I know about the money. I guess it was a rhetorical question. And you are right, we shouldn’t be financing or brokering deals.
