We’ve been through this movie before. Remember Oslo?
From Eilat, you can see the headlands of KSA across the Red Sea. But they don’t mess with us, and we buy a lot of plastics from them. On the other hand, they use us as their whipping boy, so that the Muslim fanatics will leave them be, despite their decadent lifestyle. They pressure the US to give us a b!tch slapping every now and then, to prove that they’re worthy guardians of the Hijaz.
Been doing this for three decades. Palestinian demands will be a moving target. Which Biden will chase. The Saudis may not. The terrorists, they have one legitimate complaint. The "government" negotiating on behalf on the palestinians is illegitimate. No, the US won't take that position. Biden would love one election, 4 year term=17 years to life. But imo any agreement they reach won't be binding. Just the US flushing more $ away. The Saudis, a US security guarantee is worth what they'll send the palestinians.
To those who say the US shouldn't be involved, you're largely correct. This should be between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Thanks to the Biden administration's affection for Iran, they have a serious, near nuclear, enemy.
It would seem to me transferring Area C to terrorist control would be a non starter, though I recognize the Biden administration would be ecstatic.
