Bill Richardson, a former two-term Democratic governor of New Mexico and later U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has died. He was 75.
The Richardson Center for Global Engagement, which he founded, said in a statement Saturday that he died in his sleep at his home in Chatham, Massachusetts.
"Governor Richardson passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. He lived his entire life in the service of others — including both his time in government and his subsequent career helping to free people held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad. There was no person that Governor Richardson would not speak with if it held the promise of returning a person to freedom. The world has lost a champion . . .

Oh please. Let's be honest here. This guy fed from the public trough all his life and never missed an opportunity to enrich himself personally.
He would be considered a moderate these days. He seemed like a decent guy. It’s a shame we have gotten to the point where its so polarized.
You are correct, we are polarized, but I encourage you to at least read his entry on the left-wing Wikipedia site regarding Richardson. Specifically, the paragraph on his corruption which, in addition to his alleged political corruption, includes a note regarding his (alleged) sex with at least one minor on Epstein’s island.

Obviously his heart was not with New Mexico. Wonder if he ever revealed what they found at the UFO crash site that made Roswell famous. He said he was going to do that several years back when a group excavated the area. Never heard a word since.
Bill Richardson’s father was a wealthy banker in Mexico City. His mother flew to the USA to give birth. He was groomed from an early age to politics. He was the Governor of NM and after he left it was uncovered that he ran a huge pay to play bribery operation. The case died in the courts. Never punished because by then he was working for the Clinton Mob. He was a bag man for illegal foreign campaign donations along with Al Gore. He was head of Dept of Energy and in charge of Los Alamos Labs when top secret and sensitive bomb design data disappeared just before China had it. That and the Loral deal enabled the ChiComs to have multi warhead ICBM’s. Traitors the whole lot. Yes and then there was that deal where he OKed the sale of the former Governors ranch to Jeffery Epstine. Too bad he never faced justice for his many crimes.

As far as New Mexico governors go,Richardson wasn’t as bad as Toney Anaya or Lujan-Grisham.
He was a crook. Born in Mexico, illegal alien but hid that and ran for president anyway. Covered up the Wen Ho Lee Chinese spy ring at Los Alamos. Rumored enthusiast for underage girls in North Korea. Publicly abused state police officers who drove him places. And last but not least was eyeballs deep into New Mexico’s Epstein breeding ranch.

I’m sure they forgot to mention that in the article telling us what a great guy he was.
When Richardson took office as governor of NM, the state had a cash surplus (thanks to Gary Johnson). It was immediately pissed away, and Richardson had to have a choo-choo set, so a lot of highway funds were spent to build the Rail Runner “commuter” line, which was mostly used by tourists and lost money. Meanwhile the roads turned to crap.
Then there was the whole Los Alamos spy debacle that occurred while he was Sec. of Energy. When they found the hard drives containing top secret data behind the copier, there was probably a box of ballots there too. New Mexico is famous for “voting irregularities” after all.
I’m not a fan.
