When insurance companies completely refuse to cover stores in high crime areas, I think the more liberal stores will close and the more realistic stores should start putting money towards pushing candidates that are not liberals.
In the meanwhile, crime will venture further from the liberal hubs into liberal/conservative home areas and stores in other neighborhoods until they meet resistance (like Korean owned stores during Rodney King riots).
Republicans & conservatives must wake up to the clear & obvious fact that all crimes are committed, not by the actual criminals themselves, but by the manufacturers of the products that were stolen and the retail stores that sell all those products.
It's about time that all manufacturers & retail stores around the world are held accountable and finally 'fess up and admit they are guilty of all crime -- the genius Democrat George Soros would fully agree with all of that.
“2.8 million sq ft warehouse”
There’s a challenge for shoplifters and snatch and grabbers.
An easily preventable day.
(From a societal/governmental standpoint)
Was there in the late '70s. Stayed in Oakland. Didn't have any problems and both places were pretty much like any city at the time. Big, noisy, sorta crowded but no one passed out on the sidewalks and crime didn't appear to be an open issue. Didn't notice anything that got the sixth sense up. Occasionally you saw some guy that looked gay but that was about it.
90% of San Francisco residents are wealthy, left-wing ideological turds. They voted for this. I won’t shed a tear for them but instead reserve my tears and prayers for innocent victims like the dead children in Hawai’i.
Nordstrom is a Seattle brand. Founded in Seattle in 1901. Lloyd Nordstrom was one of the founding owners of the Seattle Seahawks but died before their first game. Great store, but they have been going full woke since 2017. With this closure (along with the closures of their flagship stores in Toronto and Vancouver this year), they now have 3 remaining flagship stores: Seattle, Chicago and NYC.
You could get some fresh sourdough bread and then root for Joe Montana, Dwight Clark, Ronnie Lott, and the Niners…
O’ what a traggerdee — if these greedy store owners keep closing their stores because of theft, where will the underclass have to steal from? Will SF’s wonderful government set up publicly-funded “no-fault theft centers”, constantly resupplied with merchandise so the scum can strip it bare every day?
SF voted 15% for Trump.
“Occasionally you saw some guy that looked gay but that was about it”
Much more predominant when I was there in ‘86.
While only in SF for one day as a stop over on our way to Roseville to visit the parents of the girl I was dating.
She warned me before we even got on the plane to not confront the homosexuals in SF. I saw why when we got there, many looked like freakin’ weight lifters.
The fashion industry will also collapse now. SF will be as dated as an avacado refrigerator
Looting deserts!
I spent 10 days in Northern Cali back in the day......if I never see sourdough bread again it’ll be too soon.....not a fan. 😏
Nordstrom’s bosses dug their own retail graves.
Here is an example....
An Open Letter to Our Employees on Black Lives Matter
May 30, 2020
This is a painful time for our country and for us. The events going on around all of us are heartbreaking and we want to share a few thoughts with you.
Like so many of you, we have been deeply saddened and angered by recent events in our country. The senseless deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and too many others reflect the deeply ingrained racial prejudice and injustice that still exists in our communities today.
It is stirring many emotions, which it should. The unnecessary and unjust killing of anyone must not be accepted. The issue of race and the experiences of too many people of color cannot be ignored. We owe it to our employees, our customers and our communities to be very clear in condemning these acts of violence. They represent a disregard for basic human rights that has no place in our communities or country, and certainly not at Nordstrom.
Our employees, particularly through our employee resource groups, are critical voices as we continue to have conversations about these important topics. Our “Courageous Conversation” forums set up by our Black Employee Network have made a big impact on both of us. These conversations aren’t easy, but they’ve never been more important. We’re grateful for the courage of our employees as they share their stories. We are proud to stand with them. We welcome your feedback as we work to make meaningful change together.
Pete & Erik
A civilized society cannot condone outright lawbreaking and a two tiered pseudo-justice system before it disintegrates.
Yeah, they’re out of breath by the time they get their extra large lawn and leaf bags filled with heavy goods out to the waiting row of getaway suvs. Okay, daily cocaine use slowed their lung functions but a big store is exhausting. Cops and employees hold the automatic front doors open.
That’s not what he said.
COVID did devastate - because of the hysteria and lockdowns.
But the flash mobs of mass grabbing are definitely an issue, and he indicates so.
I thought flagship meant the base, the headquarters, the original.
Nordstrom flagship should be in Seattle.
You’re crazy, it’s delicious.
Turkey, Swiss, lettuce, pickles, and mustard on sourdough…delicious.
In the 80’s, maybe wash it down with a Tab or Fresca…
