Why the heck do we have an alcohol czar?
American Thinker ^ | 08/28/2023 | Monica Showalter

Taking after our good friends across the border in Canada, the U.S. alcohol czar has decided that we are now to have just two beers a week.

According to the Daily Mail:

Americans could be urged by officials to drink no more than two beers a week as part of strict new alcohol guidelines.

Biden's health czar told DailyMail.com the USDA could revise its alcohol advice to match Canada's, where people are advised to have just two drinks per week.

Dr George Koob — who admits enjoying a couple of glasses of Chardonnay a week — said he was watching Canada's 'big experiment' with interest.

What kind of nonsense is this? It's sure as heck not 'science' given that some people can handle and enjoy quite a bit more of that, and some people cannot. Some people have cultures that thrive on it, and others do not. The point here is that people are the best judges of what's good for them and if beer is their thing, that's their "pursuit of happiness" as the Constitution guarantees.

Oh sure, it's just a 'recommendation.' But in the Age of COVID, since when have "suggestions" stayed suggestions? We know our health authorities "recommended" COVID vaccines -- and heaven help anyone who said 'no.'

We know what they are up to.

Haven't we tried this once before? Hint: It starts with 'P' and we got rid of it as soon as we could.

That they are making Canada of all places the model state to emulate now is enough to give anyone the willies.

Nixing alcohol is a direct result of U.K. allowing itself to become a Dhimmi country.

Have they learned nothing from Bud Light? Do they really expect people to go along with this? Last time it took a change to the constitution to make this happen - then another to unmake it. How do they expect to enforce this new effort to take over your lives? Even increasing the tax will require congregational approval - really cannot see that happening - at least not until they re-gain the Senate. I see not benefit to even rattling this chain.

That was funny. You reminded me of the Reno 911 episode with Ron White erratically driving the limousine to and from the airport.

We have an alcohol czar for several reasons:

1. It’s a do-nothing opportunity for gubmint leeches.

2. It’s an opportunity for gubmint control, with which comes the opportunity to sell exceptions, which is profitable.

In short, there is money to be stolen.

Is there some significance to the fact that Biden's right hand has six fingers in that glove?

Earliest use of "czar" in American government (Wikipedia):
The earliest known use of the term for a U.S. government official was in the administration of Franklin Roosevelt (1933–1945), during which eleven unique positions (or twelve if one were to count "Economic Czar" and "Economic Czar of World War II" as separate) were so described. The term was revived, mostly by the press, to describe officials in the Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford administrations, and continues today.

“Was it the Clinton or Obama administration that first used the term cast?”

They’ve all done it more or less, since Nixon picked it back up

Starting with, of course, FDR

Maybe we should pass a Constitutional Amendment to outlaw the manufacture, sale or transportation of intoxicating liquors.

That should work.

Or maybe just include alcohol in the drug prohibition.

I foresee no issues.

The dweeb should stay in his lane. He has all the authority to place a limit on alcohol consumption within his jurisdiction. That jurisdiction is the Federal workforce. I dare him to do it.

Next up a Wiping Czar. You will only be allowed to wipe every third time to save paper. Electric shocks units will be place on all rolls and activated if person reaches for paper.

Alternate methods of corn cobs and 3 leafed plants can be used.

No more than two beers a week?

Did the alcohol czar get paid off by the makers of whiskey?
