In that oblast*, my guess would be that they were chasing drones or a slowish cruise missile. “Target fixation” has killed many a pilot this way — mid-air collision of two planes going after the same target.
*No Russian SAM sites nearby.
I’m in fact curious as to why more of these L-39’s, in light attack versions, have not been sent to Ukraine, especially by ex-Warsaw Pact countries, for just that sort of defensive well-behind-the-lines purpose. There are lots of these around, they are low cost and low maintenance cost, the landing gear can handle rough strips, etc.
Nothing good could come of me commenting on this one...
My great grandchildren’s paternal grandmother was there, in a bomb shelter. She’s there on a peace mission.
Probably not for long. I’ll pray for her just the same.
Training is ~5 months for experienced pilots.
And... “Juice’s” English is fine. In interviews, his understanding of questions presented in English is 100% from what I’ve seen (heard), and his answers are clear, very detailed, and well constructed. Sure, he has a strong accent, but he compensates by enunciating better than most native speakers. Plus, he’s a hell of a lot smarter & better informed than ol’ racist Jackson there...

"According to the air force's Telegram page" → "Ukraine's air force spokesman Yuri Ihnat told Ukrainian television" → Associated Press → Breitbart London.
It is interesting how variants on the classic game of Chinese whispers may be seen in "reporting." Republishing for wider audiences seems the order of the day, alongside other sorts of reporting in which many more than one credit for a report is given, sometimes three and more for a single news item.
Interesting.
Since Ukraine didn’t start the war it’s hard to understand how supporters of the country being invaded are in any way “pro-war.”
War cheerleaders have infested FR. They’re not in Moscow, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of them are in eastern Europe, pretending to be Americans. Their syntax is one of many things that give them away. The majority of the FR war cheerleaders are openly pro-Ukraine and pro-Zelensky. Some of them even defend Biden.
The Zelensky lovers must really hate Ukrainians. No way I would support sacrificing 400,000 Minnesotan lives if Canada captured part of Minnesota.
If the Canadians captured Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota would turn red instantly.
You already sent that to me. Did your circuits short?
Nope. When you Ukies don’t understand what I said the first time, I’m kind enough to repeat it.
A lot of the Uke Squad tend to go all over the place. I just try to keep you from getting too confused, without wasting a lot of time on you.
Have a nice day!
Oh good, I was worried that your algorithm might have short circuited - I know that Moscow Center has trouble sometimes converting from Cyrillic to Latin script.
I wouldn’t know. While I’ve traveled extensively, I haven’t been there. I’ll take your word for it since you seem to know from experience.
And now I will extricate myself from this eastern European nonsense loop. I will allow you the last word.
I probably won’t read it but your eastern European buddies might and then maybe they’ll think you’re cool and stuff, so give it your all.
