50,000 Americans died in Indochina because we allowed France to keep her colonies there after WWII.
Recently read through Pre & Post US Revolutionary material concerning coastal fortresses designed primarily as defenses against the British Navy. Without France’s engineering, finances, & military support, there’s no way the US would have ever come into existence. The separation that evolved over time is somewhat disheartening.
