...Government rarely asks these questions. Bureaucrats throw money at students. Many don’t benefit. Many shouldn’t even be going to college. Today, nearly half of the students given loans don’t graduate even after six years.

Government should be out of the lending business for colleges and universities. The institutions themselves should make any loans. If the loan is repaid, it costs them nothing, because it simply represents delayed payment for services. Give the colleges and universities some skin in the game, so they’ll have to care about whether students can repay.
Of course, the problem, from their point of view, will be that so many of the courses of “study” they offer have no value.
Tenneesse’s lottery money goes to Jr College for all, if they take advantage of it, Most don’t even make it out of HS anymore. And you can choose a Tech college too.
it is a criminal operation that pays the rats back in donations to their campaign and causes.
Most college degrees can be reduced to two years of study if you cut out all of the useless crap courses.
YOU CAN’T SAY THAT
Those classes are absolutely essential Socialist Indoctrination !

I realized it was mostly a money making scheme (collegiate education) when a man I used to know as a student and I talked. He was in a college and making Cs-Bs…he was/is mildly mentally retarded.
He was a nice guy but very slow and truly mildly retarded. Gone are the days when colleges were very difficult and only accepted the top 10% or so of intelligent students. If you can get the money and pick a soft subject like a social science/poly sci almost anyone now can get a degree.
I knew another kid, very smart. She took as many college credit courses in HS as possible and when she graduated was something like a Junior in college. Again something is wrong. She was smart but not a genius—college is too easy, again just mostly $$$ making.
And truthfully another prime function of upper education is to indoctrinate young people to the left.
Silly Wabbit!
It’s not about education - it’s simple and overt vote buying.
Indict me!
I used to work at a Univ. and I never met such totally mediocre ‘intellects’ in my life (including faculty)
