A teenager in Philadelphia has been arrested and charged for plotting what authorities have called a “catastrophic terrorist attack.”
The 17-year-old boy was arrested by SWAT forces on August 11, following an investigation FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The teen is accused of being in contact with Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad, an extremist Islamist group affiliated with Al Qaeda. Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad was officially designated as a terrorist organization by the US State Department in 2022.
He received instructions from the group on the construction of IEDs and purchased materials used to make explosives as well as "tactical gear."

Took until 2022 to label it a terrorist group.
Probably got tax exemptions and federal aid as an educational and charitable organization up to then.
The Boston Marathon bomber’s extended family shared in the hundreds of thousands of welfare and other aid money we paid them in our tax money for years. Indirectly paid for the detonation devices and bombs that blew up a young boy and took off the legs of adults.
Rolling Stone gave a cover story with an attractive photo that made him look like a rock star. Sheesh.

The investigation began in March, when the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force allegedly found communications between the Syrian-based terrorist group Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad and the juvenile on Instagram. On August 6th, claim prosecutors, he changed his WhatsApp profile photo to an image of the ISIS banner. Krasner’s office says the juvenile received messages telling him how to build IEDs and that on August 7th, an FBI surveillance team observed him buying some of the items needed to build IEDs, along with tactical gear. The next day, U.S. Customs and Border Protection revealed to the FBI that more than a dozen international shipments of military and tactical gear had been sent to the juvenile’s home.
