I was working with a guy years ago when I wanted to buy my first pistol.
“John - I bet you’re a gun guy. Where’s a good place in town to buy a pistol.”
He laughed.
“Yeah - a got about a hundred - I just need one more.”
I thought he was joking.
He wasn’t. (And he always needed “just one more”.)
And he wasn’t a “gun nut”. Just a normal guy that liked working with his hands. He had never mentioned guns prior, and only once afterwards asking if I had gone where he recommended.

Only 60%? Boy, I’d hate to be any idiot that would do something foolish enough to try and put their leader in jail. Nah, nobody is that stupid!

That right there. Millions of pre-‘64, pre-4473 firearms out there. They have no idea.

Offer Krispy Kreme donuts as a buyback. That number will be in the 20’s in no time. :)

Even more recent purchases, when the registered owner has died, and the guns were no longer in the house when estate inventory was made, who can know who they were gifted to?

If you are over 60 and have kids who like guns, and are in a state which allows transfers to family members without need of paperwork (like PA),
it’s a good idea to draw up paperwork saying you hereby gift [item serial #] to [relative’s name].
Even if the gun doesn’t physically leave your house yet.

That's a lot of what's keeping a lid on this chit right now I think.
Talked to a friend a couple years ago who had just inherited his grandfathers house in SW Iowa.
While they were cleaning the house out to sell, he found two fully auto Thompsons in the attic. He talked to one of the neighbors and the neighbor told him that a lot of ranchers and farmers used to buy them at the local hardware store back in the day.
My friend told me that he doesn't know what happened to the Thompsons and that since there aren't any lakes or rivers close by to lose them in, he figures that some local azzhole must have stole them.
Pity.

According to a groundbreaking study of those who lie to pollsters about firearms.
They study people, who lie to pollsters now...............
Next, they will survey those, who think about lying to pollsters!

Who are the dummies who thought only 30% owned firearms? Simple truth is, whether folks admit it or not, most households outside of the cities own firearms.
If the leftists ever think they are going to take over this country, they have a huge, HUGE surprise in store.

Of course the following is anecdotal...
I don’t know anyone in St. Pete that isn’t armed.

60%? Way higher than that. No one trusts FedGov or the local Po-Po to protect them anymore.

I used to make a point of buying a weapon before each presidential election. I think it takes months to get the NICS done, these days.

I think it takes months to get the NICS done, these days.I've purchased x handguns and y long guns in the last five years or so, each of which completed its NICS within the hour of each purchase.
Where "x"= a number greater than 5 and less than or equal to 50 and "y"= a number greater than 3 and less than or equal to 20.

polls show support for gun control, but then there is little follow through when legislation is proposed. Those polls may be as accurate as the ones showing Hillary Clinton would win the election. Manufactured consent.
