Biden admin seeks to jumpstart carbon recycling with $100 million in grants

… A gallon of sustainable aviation fuel costs almost twice as much as traditional aviation fuel, according to the International Air Transport Association. Carbon recycling technology is broadly expensive, limiting how widely these kinds of systems can be embraced, which can then limit their development and adoption.

The Biden administration took a step to address that chicken-and-egg problem Monday with the announcement of a $100 million grant program aimed at subsidizing carbon recycling purchases by state and local governments, as well as public utilities.

Geoff Cooper, CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association, said that the funding will also help stimulate demand and make these technologies more competitive.

“The program will significantly lower the cost of these products for state and local governments and public utilities, which in turn will increase the size of the market for recycled carbon,” he said.

The funding consists of grants to help cities and towns pay for carbon recycling technologies that transform waste emissions into valuable resources. The Energy Department said municipalities can apply for grants to fund projects that either divert waste or reduce future carbon emissions, which can include recyclable materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.

The cost of using clean energy technologies is a barrier many industry providers say they face when bidding for municipal projects. Andrew Stevenson, vice president of project development and partnerships for Twelve, said that the Energy Department initiative helps level the playing field.

“This support helps instill confidence in the growing market for carbon transformation, a critical element as the industry scales, and will help further drive the growth of green manufacturing and clean energy jobs,” he said.

If you need to subsidize it, you need to question whether people value it enough in the first place.

Just two questions:
1) Scientifically, just WHAT do you “recycle?” What products.

2) Scientifically, just HOW do you recycle it?

What’s the product, and what’s the process?
(And for extra credit, what does it recycle INTO?

And people wonder why a $900 billion defence budget doesn’t seem to buy the basics, like artillery ammunition.

My personal favourite was bio bunker fuel.

“In one case, it paid $424 a gallon for 20,055 gallons of biofuel based on algae oil. To test the Great Green Fleet in the summer of 2012, it spent nearly $27 a gallon for 450,000 gallons of biofuel, later mixed into a 50-50 blend. “

We already have carbon recycling - it’s called growing trees. Most other plants will do in a pinch.

I read world wide 70,000 wildfires break out every year and 70 to 80 volcanoes erupt. That’s a LOT of carbon being spewed out into the atmosphere. Since the DemoMarxists have declared humans responsible for recycling this “carbon”, I assume like recycling newpapers and aluminum cans, we will now have to gather up the carbon and bring it to the curb. I’ll go out on my lawn with a bag and pick up any carbon atoms I see with a tweezer and put it in the bag.
