The coastguard said the cause of the fire was unknown, but had earlier suggested it might have been an electric car.

When EV batteries catch fire, they burn hotter and longer than most fires and the fire is “impossible” to snuff out, so mitigation strategies instead focus on “cooling” (instead of extinguishing) the vulnerable or burning apparatuses. A prominent
blog on fire science gives us the working knowledge of an EV battery blaze:
A high-voltage battery is made up of many cells packed tightly together inside a watertight, fire-resistant box. When a single cell fails, it is essentially a small explosive that produces a tremendous amount of gas and heat (1,200 degrees F) in tenths of a second. The failure is an exothermic chemical reaction that does not require oxygen from the atmosphere to sustain itself. The heat released from each individual cell is transferred to the neighboring cells, which causes them to fail as well.

Will the “Actual” source ever be known? Not if she sinks.

Not just EV’s, this happens to ICE vehicles too.

“so the cause of the fire either isn’t known or hasn’t been made public“
They know damn well it was the EV but it hurts the cause so spike it

As far as an EV causing this, much like covid shots causing blood clots.......I’ll believe it was ‘till its proven it wasn’t.

An earlier report said the ship only had 25 electric cars which raises the following questions:
- Given the last ship fire with electric vehicles, do they not take some precautions with electric vehicles to isolate them from other flammable materials?
- Is there something about ocean transportation that causes the EV's to become more fire prone? The motion, the salt water spray, charging while shipping?
- Could it be sabatage?

Few years ago, the huge Bush fire in AZ was caused by EV catching fire along the state road 87.

And, during and after WWII, there were hundreds of ships lost in these same shallow waters. Pure enviro-propaganda-hysteria.

So this fire is really caused by climate change.

Buy an EV and you’re garage can look like this too.

The Washington Ferry system is going to go from Diesel electrics, to full on electric boats. Few will survive when they catch fire. Anyone see the video of the bus on fire? Like a blow torch 2 yards in diameter, from two locations. NOTHING can put it out.
