DC is about 600k.
Granted, DC is a lot more feral, but Dublin is no small town and like many others has its share of punks (what they call “yobs”.

My sister and I went to Dublin in May of 2006 and people were so friendly and welcoming. We didn’t see a lot of immigrants there then, if any.
