Frankl survived the Holocaust, just as Frederick Douglas survived slavery. The left hates their stories because they contradict the victim hood narrative. The liberals argue, implicitly, that blacks could not have made it without liberal compassion. And they hate Jews for not only refusing their phony sympathy, but for succeeding without it, and doing so spectacularly on their own.
In the early days of Israel, the Holocaust survivors were shunned, even ridiculed by the other Jews in Israel, because of the perception that they didn’t fight back.
That only started to change with the Eichmann Trial.
