The chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, which has taken a leading role in the House’s inquiry into Hunter Biden, is not fond of the idea of a special counsel being appointed to investigate the president’s son.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the Oversight Committee, said he doesn’t want to see a special counsel appointed by the Department of Justice to investigate Hunter Biden because his committee, along with House Ways and Means and Judiciary Committees, are already doing the work.
“I have no confidence in special counsels,” Comer said this week. “I have no confidence in Merrick Garland to appoint an independent, credible, unbiased special counsel. I think we're making a lot of progress in our investigation. So, we're gonna continue to plow forward."

You know what will happen if the DOJ appoints a Special Counsel...be like the fox watching the chicken house.
Just refer the Bidens for prosecution. If Garland won’t, impeach him. Repeat.

When the roles were reversed, a Republican administration and a Democrat congress, Trump was investigated for 4 years and the Republicans in congress were all for it.
Now that we have a Democrat administration and a Republican congress, the Democrat administration is considered untouchable.

Impeaching Garland would take a backbone. Most Republicans are furthering their careers and getting richer; they don’t want the negative press. They won’t impeach anyone.
The counsel is bound to use DC jury. The DC jury is not going to found any Democrat guilty, as well it will found guilty any Republicans\.
It’s easier to never get to a resolution and fund raise by chumming the water without a special counsel.
He is correct. Robert Mueller was a special counsel and knew the truth within two months but carried on the charade of Russian Collusion with Trump for 3 years. The Department of Justice is totally corrupt.
I agree with him. At least now the public is hearing the information. A Special Counsel will investigate in private. We would know nothing for 5 years.
Fortunately Congressman Comer is not listening to those that think there is no progress in bringing Joey to justice if THEY don’t see him walked out of our White House in an orange jumpsuit.
Asking for a criminal case against Joey is absolutely stupid. That would mean asking Meritless Garbage to prosecute the man that could save him from an impeachment or worse. Garbage would put all evidence in a draw and throw away the key.
There are trolls here that mean no good for America that keep whining about “No progress unless I see criminal charges,” they are our enemies.
If the full court of SCOTUS was to select and assign the special council, then fine.
Picking which fox will be in charge of guarding the hen house is a no-win situation. They’re all light years beyond corrupt in the current party in charge of the Senate and executive branch.
