another hit piece on desantis, Trump wins the primary and biden the general

Trump is tarnishing his legacy because he's going to give us 8 years of Biden (and his successor?) When Trump might be able to contain the damage now and hand over the MAGA baton to DeSantis.

Yes, you should vote for someone at the bottom of a poll think he/she is a better candidate.
it’s not rational to support him (Trump) just because he is on top in the polls. Nor is it rational to oppose DeSantis because he is lower.

I should add this to the list... of course I’ll give you attribution for it...

I do not see DeSantis winning the general at all. Why? He is further right than Trump. He will not get the women vote, nor the college kids. In campaigning he loves to tell everyone how it’s done in Florida.

Maybe you're right. But his slate is sort of clean. Trump has a bad rap so nothing can be done about that. But DeSantis might have a chance with the independents and soccer moms. Right there, he'll win Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia and Nevada.

I called it but I said it would be after the debates. I suggested vivek and Hailey would shoot up after the debates. They will play well in the Debates. Not attacking Trump goes a long way. Attacking him is the first sign that those backing you are never Trumpers. All that said, I hope no one else hits 20

Trump won twice - the second time, with millions more votes than he got the first time. You don’t have to think Trump is God to recognize that MinorityRepublican’s analysis is flawed. You just need a dose of common sense.

Time for Ron and the 12 dwarfs to endorse Trump.

Desanctimonius isn’t MAGA. If he hands it over (which he won’t and shouldn’t). It won’t be to someone who has spend the last year lending aid and comfort to all his staunchest enemies. Sheesh, get a grip.

Question: Trump is at the top of the polls, far ahead of anyone else. So are you suggesting we support some guy at the bottom of the polls?

Yes, you should vote for someone at the bottom of a poll

Of course. Go team!

I have the data from Trump's track record in '18, '20 and '22.

The Democrats have regrouped. I have not seen Trump to do that since his initial victory in '16.

The Democrats have regrouped.

Oh sure, they've really regrouped behind their cup drooling corrupt candidate...You bet.

Trump won twice

Clearly delusional. Maybe this is why you support his doomed 2024 campaign now too, so you can ridiculously claim "he won" again while we get saddled with 4 more years of Obama/Biden/Harris.

Yep, we need to get behind the guy who’s polling at near zero....Great strategery.

DeSantis will learn from rookie mistakes. Remember that Ronald Reagan lost badly in the first five primaries in 1976 and we haven't even had one vote cast yet in 2024. Reagan came back in 1980 and dominated.

The question right now is not what happens to DeSantis but what happens to the next candidate if DeSantis falls way back or drops out altogether. I believe the same pattern will emerge, meaning that it wasn't DeSantis per se, but the LAAP-dog media that is very skilled at manipulating the image of Republican candidates and goading them into saying and doing things that are detrimental to their causes.

Once we see the remaining candidates fall in the same way that DeSantis has, it will become clear that it wasn't really about any one candidate; any candidate who isn't President Trump right now will exhibit the same pattern this cycle when they bubble up into second place.

Therefore, the candidates should not be considered as "failed," or "damaged" for 2028. That is just a self-defeating mentality. It will be a signal to regroup and understand that it just wasn't their time yet. Too many die-hard Trump supporters believe that 2020 was stolen from him and feel that he deserves the second chance. That's why the also-rans aren't doing better right now.

DeSantis is 30 points down to Trump. But DeSantis would beat Biden in the general?

He's a figurehead but yes, they've regrouped behind Joe Biden. You got that right. The Democrats went with Biden because they could win with him. And they did.

Those who’ve been trying to criminally undermine, compromise and overthrow Trump won the election fair and square.

Brilliant! You should be a political consultant.

You're right. The problem is that everyone in the country knows Trump and they're going to vote against him. Biden will use Trump to turn out the liberal base to vote against Trump.
