Well, that's a horse of a different color. After re-reading the thread title, Briben will have to pry my dual fuel generators from my cold, dead hands.

What kind of a raving nutter would deprive people of generators when the electricity to power his darling EVs is out of service?

Everyone in my office here in NH that owns a single family house has a generator. When they build new subdivisions around here most have a generator installed as part of the package. Especially, if that subdivision has Natural gas or propane.

This is because NH is now the second most forested state in the USA. We basically live in a forest with a few breaks in the trees in the cities. Every time the wind blows around here more than 20 mph a tree breaks and somebody loses power.

It happened a couple days ago in my town because of some strong thunderstorms coming through. We lost power for about two hours at my house during the middle of the day. Just enough to screw up the clocks, etc.

The democrats don’t want people to put gas generators on the roof of the EVs when they order everyone to buy one ,LOL

IMO, the best car that could be produced today would be a diesel electric hybrid.

Diesel is a much safer fuel than gasoline if you are in an accident. Use a small diesel engine to charge a modestly sized battery bank made up of LiFePO4 cells.. (they don't burst into flame)

Such a hybrid car would not have the problems that all electric vehicles have like how to efficiently do heating and cooling... heating and cooling drain batteries very quickly. Also it removes the need to have charge stations everywhere while allowing for electric propulsion in city centers to keep the smog down.

There have been diesel/electric locomotives for some time now... the diesel makes the electricity to run the electric motors that turn the wheels.

The feddies aren’t authorized by the constitution to regulate commerce in this way. We need a case at SCOTUS to slam that door on their fingers, hard. The commerce clause was stretched beyond any recognition a century ago when the kkkommiecrats started their march through the institutions.

for those who experience blizzards or hurricanes that wipe out power... this is a serious threat to survival.

Every hospital has emergency backup generators.

That bimbo probably would recommend an electric powered backup generator.

Man that’s an understatement! Like all of them for the last eighty years or so?

One of my sons has a home that runs on propane as no natural gas in in his rural area. He has a Generac mounted on a small precast pad that runs off that propane and had a switchover system put in by an electrician where they have sub paneled those items he runs off the generator during outages. This is a much more dependable and safe system compared to a portable with event-rigged wiring for various emergencies. He is in Lake Effect snow areas and gets to use this one to three times a year.

And when the well runs dry, recommend using the garden hose coiled up in the garage to refill it.

Costco had the trifuel I bought two years ago on sale in store one of the last times I was there.

I converted the Briggs and Stratton IC (Industrial/Commercial) powered generator that I purchased from Costco 30 years ago to “trifuel” myself about ten years ago. The parts cost about $100, but I did print the venturi adapter that bolts between the air filter and carburetor on my 3D printer.

We live in an area with a lot of tall tree that loses power for a day or two just about every time the wind blows hard and sometimes for other reasons. All of our neighbors have generators. Ours has thousands of hours on it, for some reason running on natural gas is a lot easier on a generator and much cheaper than gasoline. I thought that the IC (Industrial/Commercial) thing was just a gimmick, but there must be something about it that is better than your typical lawn mower engine. We have sometimes had the thing running for a week or two, 24 hours a day. It is a little louder than a Honda powered generator.

I have metered it all up so I even on natural gas, it is still costing us 2 to 3 times more per kwh than what we normally pay for electricity when we are using the generator. It is most efficient when running near capacity. Ours is only 5000 watts/6000 watts peak, but it runs everything and keeps our gas furnace going as well. We have to be careful that we don't have two high wattage devices running on the same side of the two 120v circuits otherwise it bogs down and browns thing out. For example, if we are using the microwave, we have to make sure that the hair drier is plugged into a circuit that comes from the opposite side of the 240v/120v circuit. To clarify... the generator puts out 240v with 2 120v circuits. Those circuits have to be “balanced” to get to maximum capacity. Fortunately, even without the watt and amp meters that we have installed on the generator, it is not too difficult to figure out. If you are using 3000 watts from two 1500 watt devices and the power starts to brown out... one of them needs to be plugged in to a different outlet.

Anyway, some people need generators more than others, so it is unfair to push the same idiotic rules on everyone.

those gas powered generators would no longer be manufactured

and soon they’ll make their usage illegal

This is the first step in getting rid of portable gas generators completely since gas is a fossil fuel, and therefore evil and so must be stopped at all costs.

The portable gas generators will be replaced with ones that plug into your EVs or a wall socket.

And the insanity continues.

I burn fuel oil, but natural gas runs by here a couple hundred feet away. Propane's in wide use around here, in The Boonies, as is pellet, and in recent years high-temp wood burners which are installed external to the house. Propane's a byproduct of oil refining and natural gas processing, so the price fluctuates from crude prices, plus, the quality of the crude has an impact on how much can be produced, and the winter temps have an impact on how much of any fuel is needed.

It's okay We still have lots of electricity from hydro power to replace the fossil fuels... ....... e8cfd634-409c-431f-a607-ff3c4551033b-medium16x9-COPCO2 .... .... Ooooops, maybe not.

“If you purposely wanted to sabotage our economy, you wouldn’t do anything differently than what the Biden Administration is attempting to do.”

Well, since he’s working for the ChiComs (and every other enemy of America out there)... he has to do what they want him to do. That’s how blackmail, collusion and treason works.
