I’ll stick to my 1975 Ford Pinto. Totally reliable. Totally safe.

“So, because of that, you have increases in injuries and fatalities”

Fallacious. The safety features of the older cars remain in place as is. If anything, not having older cars off the road would mean the level of “safety” would increase at a lower rate than it would otherwise, not reverse course.

The EPA is a rogue agency, and not just in the Biden administration. Environment as a pretext for crushing farmers from day one. And now crushing all of humanity.

65 thousand dollars for a pickup truck is just plain crazy. The quality is just not there. Lots of glitz and a little substance. For that matter who can afford a $60k car anyway?

Many Dealers are gouging adding thousands to sticker prices. I suspect they plan on going out of business soon.

Hundreds of days of Chrysler’s and Jeeps sitting on the lots rusting away. Ford is a little better.

Rental companies will be snatching these up at bankruptcy auctions soon at big discounts.

If this estimate is right (60% of new cars will have to be EV's), then here's what I see happening:

1. Lower supply of new ICE cars will result in higher prices for new ICE cars.

2. Soon a person will have to choose between constantly repairing his old ICE car, or buying a new ICE car at the govt inflated sky high price, or buying an EV which is also a high price (and may not be suitable for his needs).

3. The political class will still claim they hate big business and are trying to help the little guy even though they're making cars more expensive and limiting your options of car types to choose from.

I could see US roadways soon resembling those in Cuba where patched up decades old cars are still on the road running on homemade “jungle juice” instead of gasoline.

The government has a simple fix. Ban all cars over 15 years old from the roads.

When the massive depopulation happens in 2025 there will be no need for cars

“...newer cars have more safety features. If they get in an accident, they’re less likely to hurt the passenger.”

Sitting on a 3,000lb battery isn’t a good idea for the driver or all any passengers.

All they have to do is raise the existing emission level so that no existing ICE vehicle can pass.

You can buy an electric car off Alibaba for $4,000 and have it delivered to your house in a crate. 😏
