My mother’s generation of my family are now all dead and I have no children.
To be fair, unemployment ‘insurance’ and paid family leave should be replaced by saving accounts. This might be 4% of pay per pay period up to say $1000/year. The funds might go into the state pension fund so the funds grow.
And we all pay the price when we buy goods or when companies go out of business.
