Conservative legal minds and U.S. Senators are lauding former President Donald Trump for his appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court that cast critical votes ending racial bias in college admissions a year after they helped reverse Roe v. Wade.
In a statement to Breitbart News on Wednesday, Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino called the current iteration of the court the “best in living memory” and lauded the 45th president’s appointments.
“This is the best Supreme Court in living memory, rolling back activist decisions like Roe v. Wade, enforcing Second Amendment rights, and striking down unconstitutional racial preferences,” Severino said. “That’s thanks to a President who made it a priority to nominate principled originalists with the courage of their convictions, and a Senate that was willing to fight for the confirmations of those nominees.”
In Thursday’s rulings in a pair of cases that Students for Fair Admissions brought against Harvard University and the University of North Carolina, all conservative and moderate justices found that racial preferences in admissions violate the U.S. Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause, as Breitbart News reported:
The Supreme Court held 6-3 that UNC’s policy is unconstitutional and held the same regarding Harvard’s policy by a 6-2 vote. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson recused herself from the Harvard case.) Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion, joined by all the conservative and moderate justices.
Racial preferences had been upheld in admissions since the 1978 court ruling in Regents of the University of California v. Bakke.
In a statement to Breitbart News, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Commission Ken Blackwell said, “Conservative and moderate justices alike agree that equal protection does not allow government schools officials to treat some students better or worse than others s”

And no way the Dems can turn it into a negative. It will be Trump’s legacy.
The Court now consists of 6 adults and three children.
The lack of actual legal reasoning in Jackson’s AA rebuttal was stunning. She should not be sitting as a judge at any level.
Awesome rulings on some pivotal cases.
Just wish SCOTUS would have heard some of the election cases. That still grates on me.
Look at the decision.
Yes, three of the majority were appointed by Trump, but three of the majority were not.
Minus the three of the majority NOT appointed by Trump (Alito, Thomas and Roberts), particularly the author of the majority, Alito, Roe would not have been reversed, yet.
I credit the real judicial victory NOT to Trump singulalry but to the sustained GOP efforts to get Conservative nominees appointed when we have GOP Presidents. Three of the six in the majority were appointed by Bush Sr, and GW Bush.
They were appointed by him… but Mitch McConnell got them through. Go figure.
No question. This one term Trump Presidency is more transformative than any GOP presidents combined since Reagan
......Conservative legal minds and U.S. Senators are lauding former President Donald Trump for his appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court that cast critical votes ending racial bias in college admissions a year after they helped reverse Roe v. Wade.......
They’re right!!! And its a good reason to re-elect Trump in 2024!
Now the unqualified new affirmative-action president of Harvard is trying to find ways to squirm out of the Supreme Court action re Harvard admissions. I hope that the courts knock her out cold, and make her resign in disgust!!!!
By the way, it was the sister of the corrupt governor of Illinois (Pritzker) who saddled Harvard with its new president, Claudine Gay. Corruption begets corruption. Phooey!!
You and me both...
Trump’s point of view did not get a fair hearing in any
quarter > IMO.
There was just too much on the record.
Now it may be that his legal team let him down, so I’m not
sure exactly where the most blame was.
But she’s an honors Harvard grad, just like me!!
Phooey!! I didn’t benefit from affirmative action, nor was I in the Law School, which has got downhill of late!!
The Dobb’s decision didn’t happen by accident. The court had a conservative minority for at least 50 years. Now it doesn’t. No Republican president was willing to fight the fight to change the makeup of the court.
It was easy enough, politically, to appoint a conservative justice to replace a conservative justice. As long as the status quo remained the same, nothing would have changed. It was the fights to replace Kennedy and Ginsburg with conservative justices that made the difference.

I disagree. Trump gets the “W” on this one. No “partial credit” to the predecessors for the “sustained GOP effort.”
Nixon had multiple picks and he whiffed on all but Rehnquist.
Ford had one pick, and he whiffed on Stevens.
Reagan had 3 picks, and he whiffed on O’Connor and Kennedy
Bush 41 had 2 picks and whiffed on Souter.
Bush 43 had 2 picks and partially whiffed on Roberts.
Trump got it done in a way that NONE of his predecessors can match. I’m a Trump critic for a lot of things (e.g., appointing Ivy League big shots to top jobs only to have them betray him), but this is and must be a credit-where-credit-is-due situation. It took Trump to get rid of Roe and affirmative action. No one else would have done it or could have done it.
Its CRITICAL to elect Trump for the third time in 2024. Thomas will certainly retire. I would bet Alito will too. And, is the Wide Latina going to last 6 more years what with her diabetes and ballooning weight? 3 more strict constructionists to make it an ironclad 7-2 majority would be outstanding.
Also, there are lots of Biden appointments to the District and Appeals courts which need to be countered.
I agree. Trump had some bad hires but SCOTUS was NOT one of them. I have to give credit where it’s due.

Don’t forget, we got Alito because Dubya’s initial pick, Harriet Miers, got destroyed by the conservatives.
I guess, in a twisted way, Dubya’s mask-slip.f up gave us Roe et Al.
We can blame both Bushes on a lot of stuff. But the Supreme Court isn't one of them. They deserve credit for Thomas and Alito. Even though they didn't pick them directly (Thomas was an affirmative action pick and Alito came in the picture only after the Harriet Miers fiasco).
The Federalist Society and the Cocaine Turtle made the picks.
Sorry, Ill take Clarence Thomas and Alito over Trumps picks any day - note the Roe decision was written by Alito - not one of Trump’s picks.
Now that is purposely with holding credit where credit is due.
It was Mitch that led the Republican Senate to confirm the new justices that made the Thomas and Alito Roe votes meaningful.
