Our military is crap now so Uncle Sam is going to force you to join as soon as you turn 18.
That was the intent. Bring the standards to crap and drive quality volunteers away and then bring back the draft to force quality draftees to serve.
If you take into account that 90-percent of 18-year olds are either obese, out-of-shape, mentally irrational, or won’t take orders from anyone...this idea of the draft won’t go far. Even if you said avoidance would get you six months of prison...it wouldn’t change results.
By 2030, I’ll predict that the Pentagon is forced into a manpower cut of 20-percent on billets...simply because they can’t fill the void.
.....I don’t see a draft in this country’s future any time soon...the uproar would be too great...besides, a recent study showed that 99 percent of the 34 million or so military-elegible potential service members are unfit for military service due to criminal backgrounds, drug use, poor educational levels, etc. a better alternative would be to start learning conversational Mandarin....that’s where we are headed....
