Longtime LGBTQ rights and environmental activist Precious Brady-Davis was appointed on Wednesday by Gov. JB Pritzker as a commissioner for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
Brady-Davis is the first Black openly transgender woman appointed to public office in Cook County history. She is also the first Black openly trans person to serve on a water reclamation board in the United States.
Brady-Davis mounted an unsuccessful run for the MWRD post in 2022. She is taking a seat vacated by MWRD Board Commissioner Kim DuBuclet, who has been appointed to the Illinois General Assembly.

Soon Chicago will have the same quality water as Flint, MI and Jackson, MS.

Son has his civil engineering BS from RHIT, never got his PE because he's moved around over the last 15 years (Tampa-Milwaukee-Phoenix-Halifax), decided to go into urban planning with an M. UP., and became a transportation planner, which he really likes. I say all that because I'm sure he could go into the water job with absolutely no previous experience and be a thousand times better than Mr. Trans In A Dress--but he'd never get the job because he's white, male, Christian, and straight, just like his dad. It's OK for him, since he's a Happy Halifax Honkey.

Nah, “Water Reclamation District Commissioner” is a do-nothing political job, they don’t really have anything to do with actually processing the water. It’s just a stepping stone for someone to fill in their resume before they run for higher office.

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago treats sewage and waste water. The district’s primary job is to dispose of solid waste that is flushed down the toilets. It also converts bio-solids into fertilizer.
