Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas), who is running for the Democratic nomination to challenge Sen. Ted Cruz (R) for his Senate seat, raised more than $6 million during the first two months of his campaign.
Allred’s campaign told The Hill that it will report bringing in more than $8.6 million for its Federal Elections Commission (FEC) report for the second quarter, which ended last week, including almost $6.2 million raised since the campaign launched in early May.

The Dems are desperate to turn Texas blue. Gotta give them credit for not giving up. Once Texas falls, then all hope is lost. Where are the blue states that Republicans are working hard to take over? They don’t exist because Repubs are not pro-active, they are re-active.
Ma Richards would’ve handily lost in 1990 had Claytie Williams not uttered that incredibly stupid remark comparing Texas weather to rape. Indeed, he was initially leading by 20%. Of course, had he won, we’d probably have never had Shrub as Governor or as President. Too bad.
The 🐀s are going to hammer him again and again over booking it to Cancun while people in Texas were freezing to death. The optics on this are terrible. It is an issue that everyone can relate to like when the Congress were writing hot checks. I wish he hadn’t decided to run again. There are new up and comers that would be better candidates. I will support him against Commie Allred if no one else primaries him.

I have been warning people here in free republic that the Lonestar state is being consumed by the radical transplants from other states, add the invaders to the mix and Texas will no longer be red. Look at Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, el paso, Houston those major cities are bluer than blueberries. America is screwed and so is Texas. When you have the Texas swamp Republicans house boot out a very popular AG without blinking an eyelash you know Texas is in trouble. Who seriously expected a United States senator to don winter gear and a lineman’s belt and climb the windmills to magically make the electricity flow again, as opposed to seeing to the safety and security of his young daughters?

There was a heck of a lot of fireworks in our “no fireworks” Houston subdivision last night. Nonstop for two hours. I don’t think that was the Allred supporters. They were too busy shooting each other and stealing from old ladies.

Beto came close in 2018 because people were still sore over Cruz’s treatment of Trump.
People took that as a sign that the power of blue was rising and trotted out Beto to go against Abbott. Beto got crushed.
The numbers are showing a hardening of blue and red counties, with Texas actually getting redder in 2022.

Cruz is hardly a disappointment but I agree the optics involving his CanCun trip to see his family were handled poorly. Whenever my lefty uncle-in-law brings that event up I ask him “What could Ted have done? He is not the governor so he has no power regarding the state agencies that dropped the ball. He couldn’t order people around ... so what should he have done?”
Ted will be fine this election. I think I’ll post another C-note his way ...
