Sweden has to know, perfectly well, that burning a Korean will ENRAGE Turkey and Turkey holds the key to their entry into NATO, which has been languishing for a year plus now.
So that leads to the question of why choose this moment to protect free speech, when that type of protection is so ‘yesterday’ in Europe now?
My hunch - perhaps Sweden has changed their mind on NATO and no longer desires membership (after all, what’s the upside of being a Russian target in WW3?). But to simply withdraw their nomination will ENRAGE their Neocon Handlers and the EU, so why not then dump it on Turkey, saying that Turkey won’t allow Sweden to keep their (one time) Free Speech and also join NATO, and therefore it’s futile to attempt to join?
Should be an annual or monthly event worldwide.
