A group of Denver renters are fed up with rising rents and bad conditions. So they crashed a party for landlords.

Blood is spattered across the ceiling of a laundry room, a few feet from Laurie-Ann Mills’ apartment, likely from people who break into the complex and use intravenous drugs hastily or incorrectly.

A gap between her apartment door and the frame allows noise to easily travel into Mills’ apartment. Her countertops are peeling. Several electrical outlets are broken. A sink in her living room produces yellow water. Her dishwasher leaks onto the kitchen floor. One-half of her apartment occasionally loses power. Cars, packages and apartments are repeatedly broken into or stolen. And a neighbor, who has since moved, was stabbed last year while smoking a cigarette in the parking lot of her East Cedar Avenue apartment complex in Denver.

New meme:

Other new meme:

When you actually realize what the definition of Utopia really is (a place that doesn’t exist)

It’s not the landlords who are using drugs, stealing packages and breaking in.

Maybe they should go after those people instead.

Those who demand something for nothing often get it ... good and hard.

Most of these losers should just be thankful that they found landlords who have as low of standards as they do!

No such right, as there are no rights to objects or services they didn’t negotiate for. At the same time, generally homes should be about as livable as when they were first offered to the present occupants. Something is very wrong in this community.

Bunch of whiners. If they don't like it, then they should move elsewhere. Just a fact of life that others act on. If you don't own it, don't abuse it. Pitch in and help maintain it to keep it livable.

I wonder how many of them didn’t pay rent during the plandemic eviction moratorium. Or how many are in arrears on rent anyway.

My daughter was renting a house for about 6 years before she bought a home here last year. She made a lot of changes to the front and rear gardens, improving it from weeds and dying bushes, and planted trees, flowers, and a vegetable garden, and lattices on the fences. She patched up walls and painted, and cleaned tiling in the bathroom. Never late on rent. Needless to say, when she moved out the landlord was sad and fully refunded her deposit.

I don’t get why some others make their own squalor, filthy conditions, and don’t try to improve their surroundings - and then complain.

I always made a deal with my landlords - you buy the paint, replacement parts, rent the carpet cleaner, etc., and I'll do the work.

Win-win situation - a nicer apartment for me to live in, and a nicer one for them to rent when I moved on.
