Oh, I have been pushing the idea a long time that we have no one to blame but ourselves.
Heterosexuals we’re the ones directly pushing sex openly esp. with the “pill” and much better condoms, etc. hippies made it endemic. Next thing you know sex is everywhere and “normal”, and ultra-important. Sex is so important, and anything that makes you feel good is ok. Do what you want!
I have zero doubt this was the real impetus to get homos normalized. After all, hedonism rules!

I have said for the longest time that the meta-narrative of gay liberation is, “have as much sex as you want, when, where, and how you want, with whoever you want, prior arrangements and commitments notwithstanding, and if there are costs, transfer them to society”.
It turned out that not all same-sex attracted people are aligned with this narrative, but it has proven extremely popular with heterosexual people - with results you can see all around you, the necessity of abortion, safe, legal, and not-so-rare as one of the consequences.
