President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that this week is very important for Ukraine’s offensive actions and has thanked Ukrainian soldiers.

DETAILS: According to the President, the Tavria front is “the toughest”.
He thanked the marines of the 35th Separate Brigade, the paratroopers of the “Seventy-ninth”, the 130th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 68th Separate Hunting Brigade, the 23rd Separate Mechanised Brigade, and the artillerymen of the 44th Brigade.
The President especially mentioned the company of attack drones of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade led by Chief Sergeant Rustam Mustafaiev, and the crew of an armoured demining vehicle of the 70th Separate Support Regiment – Senior Sergeant Mykola Nikandrov and Junior Sergeant Roman Lisin.
He also thanked the National Guard and noted Senior Sergeant Vasyl Kovylin and Platoon Commander Denys Zelenyi, the 4th Operational Battalion, and the 1st Presidential Brigade of the National Guard, who are carrying out tasks in Luhansk Oblast near Bilohorivka.
The President also singled out the Lutsk and Lviv border guard detachments. “Senior Soldier Vasyl Kutsyk, Avdiivka front, is very effective in repelling attacks. Thank you! Sergeant Vadym Druzhyna, Siversk front, successfully ‘subtracts’ enemy soldiers and equipment. Thank you!” he said.
Zelenskyy also said that during the week, Ukrainian defenders of the sky carried out more than a hundred group airstrikes on Russian positions and rear areas.
“Almost three dozen missiles and about fifty attack drones were destroyed in seven days. And I would like to celebrate the defenders of the sky over the Kyiv region, the 96th Kyiv Air Defence Missile Brigade of the Air Force. All Kalibrs and Kinzhals were destroyed during these attacks,” the President said.

• Earlier, the Ministry of Defence of Russia announced the alleged destruction of a Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex in Kyiv with the help of a Kinzhal hypersonic missile complex. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied this statement.

In the Kherson Oblast, 200 specialists from municipal services from 13 oblasts of Ukraine are helping to deal with the aftermath of the Russians’ blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP.

QUOTE: “Side by side, we are dealing with the aftermath of Russian terror in Kherson Oblast. Rescue workers, doctors, and volunteers from all over the country are working here.
Moreover, 200 communal service workers from 13 oblasts of Ukraine have arrived in Kherson Oblast. They are pumping out the water, cleaning the roads of mud, and removing garbage.”
DETAILS: In addition, the oblasts transferred to Kherson Oblast 30 units of necessary equipment: dump trucks, loaders, excavators, tractors, garbage trucks, etc.

BACKGROUND:
-On the night of 6 June, the Russian occupiers blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (which was mined last year), destroying the engine room and the dam, the plant cannot be restored. Silting of the Kakhovka Reservoir threatens the safety of the ZNPP.
-The blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP caused an environmental disaster. Water from the reservoir began to flood cities and villages, and evacuation began.
-The media outlets reported that US intelligence indicated that Russia was more likely involved in the blowing up. American satellites also recorded an explosion at the Kakhovka HPP shortly before its destruction.
-The International Criminal Court (ICC) began an investigation into the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant by the Russians; the other day representatives of the ICC visited Kherson Oblast.
-As of 18 June, 17 people were killed, 13 of them by drowning and 4 from gunshot wounds received during evacuation, as a result of the Russians exploding the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
