F-22 Raptors deployed to Middle East amid concerns of Russian aircraft behavior

U.S. Central Command announced Wednesday that the military has deployed F-22 Raptors to the Middle East amid concerns that Russian aircraft are engaging in “increasingly unsafe and unprofessional behavior.”

According to a press release by Central Command, the move is part of a “multifaceted show of U.S. support and capability” in response to the behavior of Russian aircraft in the Middle East region.

“Russian Forces’ unsafe and unprofessional behavior is not what we expect from a professional air force. Their regular violation of agreed upon airspace deconfliction measures increases the risk of escalation or miscalculation,” Gen. Michael Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM, said. “Alongside our partners and allies, we are committed to improving the security and stability in the region.” *** Central Command’s concern regarding Russian aircraft in the Middle East, particularly in Syria, has been ongoing since March. On March 16, Kurilla told the Senate Armed Services Committee that Russian aircraft had flown aircraft with loaded weapons over U.S. bases in the region “in an attempt to try and be provocative.”

When Kurilla was questioned about the Russian flights over U.S. bases, he said, “It’s not new, but we have seen a significant spike since about 1 March in Syria.”

*** The United States currently has about 900 troops deployed in Syria in an effort to prevent the resurgence of the Islamic State. While both the United States and Russia support efforts to defeat ISIS, the two countries support opposing Syrian forces.

Stars and Stripes reported that the United States recently accused Russia of violating protocols 85 times from March to May, including 26 “armed overflights.” The protocols involve various agreements made between the United States and Russia to avoid escalation in Syria due to the two countries supporting the opposing Syrian forces.***

China, Biden’s overlord, would benefit from the current proxy war by the United States against Russia to turn hot.

Someone said this is going to Jordan, which is OK I guess.

Smart move would be Israel, of course. Better techs and supply lines. And safer airfields, for certain. Shared parts with F35 that are on location. But Biden is an idiot and too prideful.

Second best would be Turkey or Saudi. Saudi being more trustworthy than Turkey.

Off topic, but two Marine Corps F-35C jets are visiting the Coeur d’Alene, ID airport this Saturday 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The jets land at 1:00 pm. The public is invited and I definitely plan to be there.

Much like the Biden’s Ukie war, we don’t belong in Syria. Our troops there need to leave.

“Why are there still American troops in Syria?
“This is a classic forever war.”

On an earlier thread someone posted a quote from some jackass U.S. military spokesman who claimed that Russian aircraft were “violating U.S. airspace” over a military base in Syria.

As if the U.S. even has any airspace over there for anyone to violate.

maybe Russia should just stop attacking & bombing everyone

wouldn’t that be a simpler solution?

I’m assuming that is a joke. The Russian military is operating in Syria at the request of Syria’s government. It’s the United States that is the invader there — no less than Russia is the invader in Ukraine.

the military has deployed F-22 Raptors to the Middle East

Raptors....those whose assembly jigs were destroyed under the obamski regime...those Raptors....?

As noted by Defense Writer Tyler Rogoway, the final tally of 187 F-22’s—of which only about 125 units sit in a deployment-ready state—makes it difficult to fulfill robust rotation commitments across Pacific, European, and Middle-Eastern theaters.

Further still, the F-22’s defenders argue that Gates and his allies killed the Raptor program based on a wrongheaded threat assessment.

China rolled out its J-20 stealth air superiority fighter markedly sooner than Gates’ mid-late 2020’s estimate.

Russia’s Su-57 air superiority fighter is already entering service. The Raptor’s adherents have likewise raised the possibility that F-22 costs would have dropped if the procurement program was allowed to grow and mature.

Assad is a despotic dictator with no legitimate claim to running Syria ... he treats his people like crap

Putin is another despotic dictator who does likewise

so it’s a case of one despotic dictator helping another

Why don’t we deal with our own despotic dictators here in North America before we tell anyone else they have no business running another country. That would include your retarded clown up there and our retarded nursing home patient down here.

It is out of Vlad’s hands now. Much written that he has turned it over to his military. Time is on Vlad’s side, the EU is fracturing, the collective West running dry / cannot supply what would be needed…..Vlad will now go for unconditional surrender ( the only solution possible now).

The Ukies should have negotiated when they had the chance, they are now spent, their population very weary ( rightly so) of the huge losses to infrastructure, economy, energy grid, industry, etc.

The Ukies “ Great Offensive “ has further reduced the western welfare wonder weapons, gained very, very little in two weeks, and the US is sending more Bradley’s and Strykers ( just announced) to be destroyed.

PS, last night Vlad had yet another huge missile strike across Ukraine, it has been on going for four weeks now, each strike greater than the last, no sign of stopping.

The US needs to leave Syria. Assad has just been readmitted to the Arab league, Iran and Iraq now signed a peace deal, and they are now united, more so everyday.

What did Trump say about the US “ FOREVER” wars? Our losses in Syria are on the rise, and we simply have no chance in Syria with the Iraq, Iran, Syria, Arab new alliance…..thanks Joe.

Russia has been in Syria since the 1970’s and is there legally.

The US has no legal grounds whatsoever to be there.
