Dominican Republic figured it out: build a wall
Odd how one side of the island is a relatively peaceful and prosperous nation, and the other side is an absolute hell-hole.
Apparently crime has plummeted in El Salvador as well after all of the gang members were frog-marched into a huge new prison. Naturally, right-minded people are condemning the new president for doing this. Although it seems to work, being tough on criminals is frowned upon.

Biden did not cancel it because it works. But he cannot take credit for it so it is kept under the radar.
Residents of California, New york, Chicago, etc, take note.
Drastically different demographics. Haiti is 95% Black with the remaining 5% being Mulatto and White. Dominican Republic is less than 8% Black, 18% White and the remainder is a Hispanic mix of 74%.
You can even tell the border just from aerial photos. The DR still has lush green forests on their side, while Haiti has been completely and utterly deforested.
