I teach Guitar to two brothers who are developmentally challenged. One (16) has Downs and the other is on the Autism Spectrum. They go to the Public School in an affluent community.

Both boys were sent home in disgrace because they were wearing new shirts that were decorated with Forest Camouflage. There had been nothing in the School Dress Code against Cammies, but an eight-grade girl had decided to identify as a DEER. This means that cammies are threatening to her because they remind her of hunters.

My students were really hurt by this, as they can’t understand what they did “wrong” to get sent home from school.

Their mom is thinking of sueing both the school and the parents of the “Deer-Girl” for impeding two disabled boys from getting an education, under the ADA.

I suggested something a little more subtle. Indulge her fantasy! When Lunch is served in the cafeteria, give the little b*tch nothing but Tree Bark to eat. She’ll drop the charade in a hurry.

Both the confused girl and the administrators are obviously ignorant of deer hunting. Had the lads warn ‘hunter-orange’ vests the deer little one might have a point, but camo...perhaps she also identifies as a turkey.
