I don’t buy north face. There is better mountaineer gear for lower 48.
I still do some mixed alpine climbs. None of the big mountains.
I know a few guides that work on Everest. North Face does make a line of gear for over 20,000 ft. The guides all say it is top notch gear.

It probably is if those folks are saying so. Rucker, Hunter, tactical shooter, fisherman here… so admittedly outside of clothes, the gear doesn’t apply to my interests much. I’ve seen NF give way to other brands around here, especially for my age group (under 45). To us gear nerds, we’re into retro, rehabbed gear and stuff that’s well-worn and heavily used, obscure and hard to find, etc. So much stuff goes full circle (back to what our dad’s and grandfathers used), especially in my hobbies I listed above.

PS. For example, my go to hunting rifle right now is my late grandfather’s Model 70 in .270 he bought new in 1949!
