New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) signed a bill into law on Friday to ban discrimination based on someone’s weight or height in employment, housing and public accommodations.
Adams said in a release that the law will “level the playing field” for residents and create more inclusive workplaces. The New York City Council overwhelmingly voted to pass the bill in a 44-5 vote earlier this month to have the city’s anti-discrimination policies cover both actual and perceived height and weight.

So I at 5’ 6.5” can apply to play for the New York Knicks and they’ll have to hire me? Woo Hoo! Bring on the multi-million dollar contract.
Hahaha...I like the way you think.
So now a company can be forced to hire a 400-pound fatty that they KNOW will have health issues over their career, instead of the normal-sized person who wouldn’t.
I thought that already was the law everywhere. There is the law saying you may apply but no law saying you must then be hired. Expect lobbying of equal opportunity hiring ratios for the short, old and fat.
How would that work for being a Fireman?
What actually will happen is some football lineman will come in one season fat and out of shape.
They will try to get him to work hard and get back into a weight/size where he is most effective and he’ll slack off then decide to sue the team, NFL and owner under this law.
Maybe I’m on my way to becoming a basketball player after all of these decades.
Airlines will have to make special accomodations for xxxL people if this passes.
Eventually they will have to draw from the zodiac for more.
We had an enormously overweight guy at a place I worked who ruined an expensive desk chair by sharting in it so many times it stunk up his office. Eventually the chair had a brown skidmark visible from eight feet away, like if you were standing at that distance to talk to him because of the odor, but then he got up and you could see it.
This isn’t going to do anything to get big fat mama off the welfare rolls. Between Section 8, EBT, cash disbursements, free phones, etc, they have no incentive to get a job even if someone was willing to hire them or was forced to hire them.
So discriminate based on waist measurement.
Next problem?
Christi, Whoopie and Stacy are fleeing to NY.
I can’t wait for the short, dumpy swimsuit models.
More for the circus atmosphere, we have the bearded ladies, the men dressed as women, now we will have midgets and fat people
Here’s the text of the law...
As usual Deep State left itself a ****load of outs.
Everyone else is pretty much screwed.
Look out for the 400-pound flight attendants on future airline travel.
It’s about time! I am 6 ft 4 inches and 250 pounds. I always wanted to be a jockey. I’ve got my applications in now with copies to my lawyer.
Do the Jets and Giants have offices in NYC, even though they play in NJ? Is the official place of employment in NJ or NYC?
It would affect Mets, Yanks, Rangers, I think the Islanders moved back to Nassau (?), and the Knicks.
Brooklyn Nets too.
