Indeed, he was part of the original NWA which hit stardom with a song titled F the Police. Of course, if you’ve seen their biopic, then you know why they write the song.

Ironically Ice later joined the cast of Law & Order SVU where his character was actually more conservative than his partner Munch.

Ice has not forgotten his roots, but he’s accumulated a nice bank balance over the past 3 decades, and I expect has a more nuanced view now of the system. And of course he is right that the system doesn’t change no matter who is in office, even when a Black man was president.

Although, I’ve never been a rap listener, I am aware that it had some good stuff in its beginning. It’d be nice if if became a positive influence again, where it could lead young lives to doing good things with themselves.
